Earwax, also known as cerumen, is a natural substance produced by the glands in the ear canal. It serves to protect the ears by trapping dust, dirt, and other particles, preventing them from reaching the eardrum. However, sometimes earwax can accumulate and cause discomfort or hearing issues.
Ear Examination - We conduct ear examinations using a combination of traditional otoscopes and digital otoscopes equipped with a small camera. This provides a live video feed of the ear canal on a screen, allowing for a detailed view of its condition.
We capture images of ear canals primarily for our reports, which are available to our customers upon request.
We discuss our findings with you and outline the next steps. If we identify conditions in your ear that require a doctor's intervention, we will not proceed with earwax removal and will provide appropriate advice on where to seek help and support. With your consent, we may contact your doctor on your behalf.
If the issue is within our scope to address, we will recommend one of the following options for earwax removal:function.
Water Irrigation - This procedure uses a stream of warm water to remove earwax buildup. It is a safe and effective method, especially for large amounts of earwax. We utilize the latest equipment available.
Microsuction - This method involves using a tiny vacuum to gently suction out the earwax from the ear canal. It is a safe and effective technique for earwax removal.
Following procedures such as ear irrigation and microsuction, we provide aftercare advice on what to expect.
We also offer follow-up calls a few days after the procedure to monitor the well-being of our clients.
